Rome is one of the most expensive cities for a tourist to visit in Europe. Not only does it cost more money than many other cities in Europe, but finding an open hotel room can be especially difficult not matter what the time of year is. Despite all of these problems, there are still plenty of great Rome hotels that are diamonds in the rough. You just need to do a bit of exploring in order to find them.
The first hotel is one of the American mainstays. For people catching an early morning flight or arriving into Rome on a late flight, the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Airport can be an essential hotel. Not only does this hotel offer a great room for the night, but their amenities include staff who speak English as well as several other languages, and a continental breakfast to help you get started in the morning. The Courtyard by Marriott Rome Airport is only a three star hotel but is convenient for travelers.

The second hotel in Rome that is a great place to stay is the Hotel Madison. The Hotel Madison is located further inside Rome, and does charge quite a bit more than some of the other hotels in the area. However, sometimes what you pay for with location can really pay off in the long run. The Hotel Madison has smaller rooms, but they still should be able to provide plenty of room for a couple. The third hotel in Rome that provides some great accommodations is the Turner Hotel. The Turner Hotel is one of the most beautifully decorated hotels in all of Rome. Many tourists choose to stay at this hotel due to its close proximity to other transit options, including the popular European rail network. While it may take ten to fifteen minutes to get to the train station, it is a good deal closer than many other hotels. Another great part of the Turner Hotel is that it provides a great place for you to walk inside. Sure, the weather in Rome may be hot, but you can enjoy the cool shaded walk inside the Turner to see all the beauty that it holds.
Whichever hotel you decide to stay at in Rome, you should be extremely pleased. While problems may come up from time to time, most of the hotels provide excellent service and rarely have problems at all. You might notice that you will pay more during certain times of year for certain rooms, try to travel during the lower demand late summer and late winter season in order to reduce the costs of your hotels by as much as possible. Staying in an American hotel, a traditional Italian hotel or a mix of the two can provide you the ultimate Rome experience!

The first thing you need to do is decide on a theme. You can choose anything between sunken ships and Disney. The theme you select for your aquarium decor is simply a matter of personal choice. After that I suggest you create a rough sketch and scale everything to size. Doing this will help you fit everything in the tank, and make sure it looks nice. A little planning always helps.

There are many different types of decorations for your aquarium available. And by many I mean hundreds, even thoushands to choose from. The Blue Tang (Paracanthurus Hepatus) enjoys the distinction of being one of the five most recognizable maine fishes along with the percula clownfish (Percula, Ocellaris), flame angelfish (Centropyge Loriculus), yellow tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens) and the royal gramma (Gramma Loreto). It remains the sole species under the genus Paracanthurus. Its body is a stunning bright blue while it has thick black markings that stretch out from its eyes to its tail.

The movie Finding Nemo featured a blue tang as one of its main characters. The blue tang is also known as the Hippo Tang, Royal Blue Tang, Regal Tang and the Palette Surgeonfish. Along with the yellow tang, this fish is the most popular surgeonfish in the hobby. One of the most heavily collected fishes from the Indo-Pacific, they are very affordable. Prices range from $25 fr a small specimen to $80 for an adult. As with all surgeonfish, the blue tang is susceptible to ich and lateral line erosion so pick so keep a look out for any sign of the two.

Towards other species of fish the blue tang is quite peaceful. One of the reasons why it enjoys such popularity in the hobby. They can be hostile towards other surgeonfish, especially blue tangs so the general rule should be one blue tank per aquarium.

In they wild they are a shoaling fish. If many are kept together in a large tank they can often be seen swimming together. When housing more than one blue tang, they should always be introduced at the same time. Aggression is normally seen when putting a new blue tang in with an established one.

Blue tangs reach a maximum length of 12 inches. As such they should be housed only in larger tanks upwards of 100 gallons. Because this fish is heavily collected, there will be many small specimens no bigger than an inch. They grow very fast at that size and will easily outgrow a 30 gallon in a matter of months.

Blue tangs need large amounts of room to swim so the aquarium scape should be setup up accordingly. They need at least a few caves/niches as they bed down in these areas every night.

In the wild, blue tangs are primarily herbivores. They form large schools and actively graze on algae throughout the day. In captivity a vast percentage of their diet should be made up of algae based foods. They are completely reef safe (Unlike marine angelfish) making them very popular choices for larger reef aquariums.

Seaweed/Nori sheets are commonly offered. You can buy either branded seaweed (Julian Sprung)or you can run down to your local supermarket and get some cheap nori there. Buy unflavoured, plain nori. They sometimes come with spices so you want to avoid those. Attach your seaweed to a nori clip and attach it to the side of the tank.

While they are mainly vegetarians in the wild, they will normally consume anything that is offered in a saltwater aquarium. Meaty foods should make up a small percent of their daily diet.

Formula one and formula two food mixes are a good choice as well as krill, mysis shrimp and a high quality pellet. A highly reputable food for all marine fishes are those that are produced by New Life Spectrum.

Once in a while you’ll see pet stores feeding lettuce to their tangs. You want to avoid lettuce as it doesn’t offer much nutritionally (romaine or iceberg, doesn’t matter).

2008 started slowly with the hangover for the manic relate market of ‘07. By the end of 2008, the UK was in the worst housing slump since the 1930s. There are three main factors that have contributed to this heady heading spiral.

1 / Cyclical economic slowdown

After 15 years of non-stop growth, the UK brevity had overheated and house price inflation had far-outpaced rises in average earnings. The average home was costing 7 times middling earnings, which was unsustainable. A policy of low interest rates had led to the availability of cheap credit and properties had seemed affordable despite the ever-increasing prices. However, edgy of inflation running rampant, the Bank of England MPC gradually raised interest rates up to 5.75% in July 2007. This hit enthusiastically-leveraged borrowers hard, especially those on interest only mortgages and had the desired effect of substantially cooling the housing retail.

2 / Worldwide banking crisis

When Northern Rock collapsed in the summer of 2007, it wasn’t a one-off at any rate but was linked to the fallout from the sub-prime market both here and in the United States. Banks worldwide had gambled by lending to un-creditworthy customers who were left-wing unable to afford their loans and therefore defaulted on them, often literally handing back their keys to the lender. As Northern Rock had grown its organization by taking on risky debt, it soon found itself unable to secure funding to operate and the government had no choice but to bail it out. The banks then all took note of this and as a matter of fact tightened their lending criteria. In a matter of weeks, the days of 100% mortgages were gone and loan to value ratios were cut dramatically.

3 / Lending curb

This alone would be enough to cause a housing crash, but on top of this the banks stopped lending to each- other almost completely. This credit crunch attacked the entire economy from small businesses to the largest industrials and we are now seeing the rising unemployment and reduced spending that a shrinking concision causes.

The result of this unhappy alliance of bleak news is that buyers couldn’t borrow cabbage to fund their moves, vendors couldn’t afford to take lower offers on their homes as that often dragged them into negative objectivity and thousands of builders, estate agents and mortgage advisors went bust as business dried up.

The lettings furnish has been hit too as thousands of homeowners, unable to Sell House Quickly but needing to move have found themselves having to let their properties out, in effect becoming trust in landlords and massively increasing supply. The result of this is that cash for houses have been dragged down in the rental sector and many buy to let investors are conclusion that their rents no longer cover their costs and their investments are repossessed by the bank, further damaging the market.

Is there a way out of this danger?

The only route back to stability is for the banks to begin normal lending again both to each other and to home buyers. Without this the market is in for an even worse 2009. Only everything will tell.

I was obsessed with food for as long as I can remember. My Granny was a great cook and so is my Mother, my earliest memories are of waiting for something to come out of the oven so that I could taste it.







I studied hospitality management, my first in service training placement was at the Cape Sun Intercontinental working in a high pressure kitchen, nothing beats that adrenaline rush. I knew that`s what I wanted and I`ve never looked back.

I`ve been at the Cape Grace for 16 months now and prior to that I spent a combined 5 years at GINJA and SHOGA Restaurants which are owned by Mike Bassett who`s been my mentor. I also spent 18 months in the UK to satisfy my curiosity for the culinary scene abroad and worked as a chef de partie in a few of Cape Town`s five star properties after I had finished my studies.
